Itinerary

Morning:
Depart from Marrakech around 8:00 AM for a scenic drive to Imlil (1,740m), the starting point of your trek. Upon arrival, meet your local guide and muleteers, and begin your hike through the beautiful Ait Mizane Valley. Pass traditional Berber villages like Aroumd, surrounded by terraced fields and mountain landscapes.

Afternoon:
After a lunch break at the sacred site of Sidi Chamharouch (2,310m), continue your ascent toward the Toubkal Refuge (3,207m). The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks as you approach the refuge. Enjoy a warm dinner and overnight stay at the refuge.

Hiking time: 5-6 hours
Elevation gain: 1,460m

Early Morning:
Start early, around 4:30 AM, for the challenging ascent to the summit of Mount Toubkal (4,167m). The trail is steep and demanding, but the reward at the summit is worth it – stunning panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains and beyond, with the Sahara Desert visible in the distance.

Late Morning:
Descend back to the refuge for breakfast, then continue down the valley toward Aroumd, a charming Berber village located at 1,950m. Enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery and the warm hospitality of the local people.

Afternoon:
Arrive in Aroumd in the early afternoon, where you’ll have time to explore the village and relax after your summit achievement. Enjoy a traditional dinner and overnight in a local Berber guesthouse.

Hiking time: 8-9 hours (summit ascent + descent to Aroumd)
Elevation gain/loss: +960m (ascent), -2,210m (descent)

Morning:
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic trek around Aroumd and the surrounding Berber villages. Explore terraced fields, ancient irrigation systems, and beautiful waterfalls. Learn about the local culture and way of life in these traditional mountain communities.

Lunch in Imlil:
Descend back to Imlil for a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, take time to relax and soak in the peaceful surroundings.

Afternoon:
Transfer back to Marrakech, arriving by late afternoon.

Transfer time: 1.5 hours back to Marrakech
